Application Information
Instructions for use

Surface preparation

The surface of the concrete to be prepared shall be sound, clean and uncontaminated.

This preparation shall be such as to leave a sound exposed concrete surface free from dust, loose particles and any deleterious matter. If the concrete surface is defective or has laitance, it must be cut back to a sound base. Excess laitance deposits are best removed by light  mechanical scrabbling, grinding or grit/captive blasting followed by vacuum cleaning to remove dust debris.

Any blowholes, chipping or similar surface imperfections shall be repaired using EPOFINISH C, a solvent free epoxy resin repair mortar.

Expansion joints shall be repaired using EPOMORT HS, a high strength solvent free epoxy mortar.

New concrete or cementitious surfaces should be allowed to cure and have moisture content not exceeding 5%. Old or existing floor should be refurbished mechanically to ensure clear sound substrate.

Priming

All surfaces must be treated with PRIMER POXY FF, a high performance solvent free primer.

The primer should be applied by brush or roller on to the cleaned surface area (particularly hidden surfaces) at a rate of 5-6m2/Liter.

A second coat of primer may be required if the substrate is excessively porous.

Mixing

EPOFLOOR TX is supplied in 3 pre weighed packs (Base, Hardener, and graded filler) ready for immediate on site mixing. Partial mixing is not allowed. Mixing should be carried out using a force action mixer or a heavy duty, slow speed drill fitted with a mixing paddle. Add the hardener (Part B) to the base (Part A) container and mix for 30 seconds. The contents of the graded filler pack (Part C) should then be slowly added while mixing for another 3-4 minutes until a uniform and homogenous lump free material is achieved. Scrape the side and bottom of the container while mixing.

Once mixed, the material must be used within its pot life

Application

Discharge the mixed mortar on the floor when the primer is still in a tacky condition. Spread and compact the mortar with a wooden trowel to get a uniform thickness and close the surface with a stainless steel trowel.

Particular attention should be given to areas around obstruction and protrusion making sure that all surfaces are covered.

Cleaning

Tools and equipment should be cleaned with SOLVENTE 10 from Colmef immediately after use. Hardened material should be removed mechanically. Spillages should be absorbed with sand or sawdust and disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Recommendations

n EPOFLOOR TX should not be applied at temperatures below +10ºC and above +35ºC.

n Mixing tools should be cleaned with SOLVENTE 10 after use.

n EPOFLOOR TX should not be applied to asphalt, weak or friable concrete, PVC tiles or sheet.

n EPOFLOOR TX should not be applied if the surface relative humidity is more than 75%.
