Application Information
Instructions for use

Surface Preparation

The reinforcing bars must be clean from weak concrete, grease substances and rust. Sand blasting would be advisable for cleaning deep rust. Continue cleaning until all rust is removed. Exposed reinforcement can also be cleaned mechanically or by using a stiff brush tool.

Mixing

EPOZINC is composed of two components that must be mixed well before use. Stir components A & B individually then pour component B into component A and mix thoroughly using a slow speed drill at the rate of 200-300rpm. Scrape the sides and the bottom of the container and again mix until a lump free homogenous mix is achieved.

Application

The mixture must be applied by brush onto the prepared surface. Make sure the whole iron surface is completely covered. Repair mortars can be applied as soon as EPOZINC is dry.

In order to guarantee the necessary protection of substrate, it is advisable to apply two coats of EPOZINC. Second coat should be applied on the first coat once it is totally dry. Use SOLVENTE to dilute the product if necessary at a mix rate of 10%.

In case the EPOZINC is used as a primer, allow the primer to fully cure prior to apply finishing top coat.

Do not apply thick coat in single application in order to allow all the primer to cure properly. For built up thickness, successive coatings of EPOZINC can be applied.

Cleaning

Clean all tools and equipment used in application using SOLVENTE 10 before the product dries.

Recommendations

  • High temperature reduces pot life and drying time.
  • Minimum temperature for application is +5°C.
  • Should not be applied on rusty surface or existing coating, otherwise the applied coatings will peel off.
  • Should not be exposed to aggressive acids or solvents.
  • Cannot be used in contact with drinking water.
