Uses
Conseal is used:
As a superior protection for underground concrete (e.g. foundations, retaining walls manholes) against soil acids and salty water.
Protective coating for steel work and pipes.
Protective lining for gutters carrying diluted acid, alkalis and similar effluents.
For maintenance of many type of roofs including built-up felt, zinc, concrete and lightweight screeds.
To provide a waterproofing membrane in wet areas such as kitchen and bathroom floors.
Suitable for polystyrene and polyurethane panels gluing to concrete or block surfaces.

Technical Information
Product Description

A superior quality of high solid bitumen emulsion and rubber content. The dried film of CONSEAL is tough, seamless and extremely elastic. It forms an efficient waterproofing coating which withstands both minimum and maximum ambient temperatures without cracking, running or slumping.

Shelf Life & Storage

Storage:

CONSEAL drums should be sealed and stored away from direct sunlight.

Instructions for use

Surface Preparation

The surface of the concrete shall be sound, clean and uncontaminated. This preparation shall be such as to leave a sound exposed concrete surface free from dust, loose particles and any deleterious matter. If the concrete surface is defective or has laitance, it must be cut back to a sound base. Moss and lichen must be removed physically followed by treatment with fungicidal wash. After treatment, it must be washed down thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry.

Mixing

Agitate the drum before use. The drum should be rolled on the ground back and forth before decanting material.

Application

Apply CONSEAL using a brush or a roller at an average rate of 2-4 m2/Liter, depending on the dry film thickness required. 300-micron dry film thickness (DFT) can be achieved when applied at 3m2 /Liter/coat. Coats must be applied at right angles to one another with a minimum of 6-hour interval between each application at 25°C to achieve the desired thickness. Each coat must be completely dry before the next coat is applied.

Cleaning

CONSEAL products should be removed from tools, equipment and mixers with clean water prior to the initial set. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.

Recommendations

  • Do not apply subsequent applications if the membrane is punctured or damaged.
  • When spraying CONSEAL, it is recommended to dilute it with 10% clean water.
Additional Information
Health & Safety

CONSEAL is non-flammable, non-hazardous product. However, proper measures should be taken during work to avoid contact with eyes or skin. In the event of contact with eyes, wash immediately with clean water and seek medical care.
