Application Information
Instructions for use

Surface preparation

The surface must be structurally sound, clean and dry and free from shutter release and curing agents, laitance and surface contamination such as dust, dirt, waxes, oils, old adhesives, paint, grease, sealants, weak cement screeds and renders, etc.

Bituminous compounds must be removed completely. New concrete or screeds must be at least 28 days old. New renders or brickwork must be at least 14 days old.

Any repairs, leveling or smoothing should be carried out using suitable product from COLMEF range of repairing and flooring products. Allow the repairing layer to dry prior to application of NEOFIL M10.

Priming

High porous cement surfaces, hardboards, chipboards and plywood must be primed with diluted PRIMER A18 (1 part Primer: 2 parts Water), which must be left to be tack free before applying the adhesive.

Mixing

Stir the pocket contents well before use.

Application

NEOFIL M10 should be applied using a serrated trowel to ensure optimum transfer of adhesive, as follows:

  • Vinyl tiles and sheeting and backed carpeting - serrated trowel with triangular notches of 1.5mm x 1.5mm with 4mm centre
  • Coarse, unbacked carpeting (ex. needle punch carpeting) - serrated trowel with triangular notches of 3.0mm x 3.0mm with 4mm centers

Allow the adhesive to flash off and become slightly tacky before applying the floor covering. Press the floor covering into place and roll all flooring (except cushion flooring) with a 68kg flooring roller or use a smoothing tool as appropriate, from end to end to ensure full contact with the adhesive.

Cleaning

Clean used tools with warm water after application is completed and before product dries.

Recommendations

  • Do not apply loads or move furniture on the floor covering until the adhesive has fully set.
  • Do not weld vinyl floor coverings until the adhesive has had sufficient time to develop a good bond, normally 24 hours.
  • During summer season, working area should be covered to prevent the direct sun effects.
