Liquid Applied Waterproofing for Roof and Wet Areas
ACRILUX PU is a ready to use, single component, hybrid acrylic polyurethane emulsion for roof and wet areas waterproofing. It is a non-toxic, UV resistant liquid applied waterproofing membrane with high elasticity.
Consumption:
1.0 kg/m² – 2.1 kg/m² (depending on application and porosity of surface
Packaging:
ACRILUX PU is supplied in 20 kg pails
Storage:
Store in original, unopened, sealed and undamaged packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. Protect from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. In these conditions its stability is of at least 12 months.

Surface Preparation
The surface of the concrete shall be sound, clean and uncontaminated.
This preparation shall be such as to leave a sound exposed concrete surface free from dust, loose particles and any deleterious matter. If the concrete surface is defective or has laitance, it must be cut back to a sound base. Oil, grease, varnishes, rust, dust and mould on metal surfaces shall be removed by wire or stiff brushing and grit blasting then wiped with SOLVENTE 10 prior to priming.
Priming
Priming can be done if substrate is very porous, using same product 10% diluted.
Crack treatment
Shrinkages and non-moving structural cracks less than 1.0mm shall be filled with a pre-treatment strip of ACRILUX PU of 1.0mm thick extended to 75 mm on both sides of the crack. Voids and honeycombs shall be patched with BETOFINISH C or EPOFINISH C allowing the area to cure before applying the membrane.
Right Angle Bends
All right angle bends must have a coving detail installed. In areas where parapet walls, columns, pipe penetrations are present, a 45° coving fillet shall be made at all corners using BETOCEM FIBRE, a Fiber reinforced shrinkage controlled mortar for concrete repair to the water saturated cured surface.
All other angles, joints, protrusions and stress joints should be pre-treated with a heavy application of ACRILUX PU extending 150mm on both sides of the coving. Allow the patched area to cure before applying the membrane.
Movement Joints
Expansion and movement joints should be sealed with ACRYSEAL, an acrylic sealant. Allow to cure before the application of ACRILUX PU.
Mixing
Stir ACRILUX PU until a homogenous consistency is achieved.
Application
ACRILUX PU shall be applied by brush, roller, or airless spray in two coats at a rate 1.0 kg/m² – 2.1 kg/m² depending on porosity of the surface. The two coats must be applied at right angles to one another once the first coat completely dries.
Substrates that are exposed to movements and deformation or where cracks are expected, ARMOFLEX, a reinforcing glass fiber mesh shall be spread into the first coat of ACRILUX PU before applying the second coat.
A layer of fiber glass mesh should be embedded between the two ACRILUX PU coats over pipe culverts, floor drains, corner joints and floor / wall junctions.
It is recommended to spread sufficient clean silica and to the final wet coat of ACRILUX PU before applying adhesives. Tiling or finished floor installation ACRILUX PU should be carried out as soon as possible after full cure of membrane is established.
Repair
Any damaged areas can be readily overcoated to restore the membrane continuity. The surface is to be properly prepared using emery cloth to rub down the surface to provide a key and is to be made dust free, prior to product application.
Cleaning
ACRILUX PU should be removed from tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use.
Recommendations
During application, wear appropriate protective clothing, goggles, gloves and respiratory equipment if necessary.
In case of contact with skin, rinse with water and again wash thoroughly with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice accordingly.
If ingested, obtain medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
