Penetrating Corrosion Inhibitor
A water-based, organic corrosion inhibitor that penetrates concrete to form a protective layer on reinforcing steel, effectively delaying the onset of corrosion and reducing its corrosion rate. ACQUAFER protects steel reinforcement from carbonation and chloride damage, improving durability and life expectancy. It offers long-term, cost-effective protection by forming a protective barrier on steel, reducing the need for premature repairs.
Consumption:
0.50kg/m2 according to the porosity of the substrate
Packaging:
ACQUAFER is available in 20L and 200L drums.
Storage:
Store the product in dry closed place with temperature between +5°C and +25°C. The product maintains its stability for 24 months from production date.

Surface Preparation
The surface must be dry clean, free from grease substances, paints, curing compound or any inconsistent parts, in order to allow the material to penetrate. Repair any delaminated, weak, or damaged concrete using Colmef Concrete Repair material when over-coating a substrate, ensure the surface profile is adequate for proper adhesion. Use abrasive blasting or high-pressure water-blasting to create a rough surface profile when preparing concrete for cementitious over-coatings. Allow the substrate to dry prior to application of ACQUAFER to ensure full coverage.
Performance Characteristics
Depth of Penetration
ACQUAFER penetrates concrete at a daily rate of a few millimeters, generally achieving a depth of 25 - 40 mm in 30 to 60 days. Penetration rate depends on the concrete's porosity and is facilitated by both vapor and liquid diffusion processes. Applying protective coatings such as acrylic, cement-based layers, or hydrophobic treatments slows the inhibitor's diffusion, as penetration is then limited solely to the vapor phase.
Application
Apply ACQUAFER in 2-3 coats depending on the porosity of substrate or until saturated using a brush, roller, or airless spray. Do not allow ponding on horizontal surfaces. Allow the surface to dry out between coats to a matte damp appearance. Once the final coat turns matte, lightly rinse the surface with a water hose. Use pressure washing to remove any soluble salt deposits from the surface.
Overcoating
Ensure proper application to avoid further surface preparation before any subsequent application.
Cleaning
Clean the tools with water when the product is still wet. Dry residues should be removed mechanically.
Recommendations
During application, wear appropriate protective clothing, goggles, gloves and respiratory equipment if necessary.
In case of contact with skin, rinse with water and again wash thoroughly with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice accordingly.
If ingested, obtain medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
