Application Information
Instructions for use

Surface Preparation

The surface should be sound, clean, dry and free from loose and flaking materials, efflorescence, laitance, curing compounds, dirt, oil, grease or other contaminants. Mechanical methods like grinding or grit/captive blasting in order to provide a suitable profiled open textured surface is strongly recommended.
New concrete or cementitious surfaces should be at least 28 days old, have moisture content not exceeding 5% and relative humidity of the concrete is 75% or below. Old or existing floor should be refurbished mechanically to ensure clear sound substrate.
Surface irregularities and blow holes shall be repaired with EPOFINISH C, a solvent free epoxy resin repair mortar. Allow the applied material to harden. After all preparation is complete, ensure dust is removed from the surface using an industrial vacuum.
Expansion joints shall be repaired using EPOMORT HS, a High strength solvent free epoxy mortar.

Mixing

As a primer
Mix PRIMER POXY FF* as supplied. Add the entire content of hardener can to the base can and mix thoroughly for about 2 minutes.

As levelling mortar
Once base and hardner are mixed thoroughly add Quartzo mix thoroughly until a uniform consistency is achieved. To ensure thorough mixing pour materials into another container and mix again to achieve a consistent mix. Avoid overmixing to minimise air entrainment.

Mixing Tools

  • PRIMER POXY FF* must be thoroughly mixed using a low speed electric stirrer (300 - 400 rpm) or other suitable equipment.
  • For the preparation of leveling mortars use a forced action mixer of rotating pan, paddle or trough type. Free fall mixers should not be used.

Application

As a primer
Once mixed, the PRIMER POXY FF* shall be immediately applied in a thin continuous film using stiff brushes or rollers. Avoid over-application and puddles.

As levelling mortar
Rough surfaces need to be levelled first. Apply the levelling mortar by squeegee/trowel to the required thickness.

Cleaning

Clean tools with SOLVENTE 10 promptly before material hardens. Cured material must be mechanically removed.

Recommendations

  • Don’t apply the product with imminent rain
  • PRIMER POXY FF* should not be applied on asphalt floor and PVC tiles.
